Northern Rockies Section Championship Update !!
Monday, 28 July 2008 22:45

To all NRS 2008 match attendees,

We wanted to give you all an update on the Northern Rockies Section Championship match.  We have passed through the recent damaging storms of the Gallatin Valley and look forward to good weather for the match.  It will most likely be quite warm, so plan accordingly.

Our general schedule will be to have our shooters meeting at approximately 9:30 and then to shoot the first half of the match till about 12:30 and then break for lunch.  We will be simultaneously having our raffle at that time.  We have a couple of nice rifles, and miscellaneous other items from vendors who support us and our USPSA competition.  Please remember that we have a lunch vendor serving very reasonably prices cold lunches to support our event.  This will all take place in the main clubhouse. We will resume shooting at 1:30.

We will continue with the match to completion and immediately gather in the clubhouse for the award ceremony.  There will not be a need to tear down.  A group of local shooters and volunteers will accomplish that task after completion of the event.  We hoped to get those who traveled to our championship as early a start back on the road as possible.

At the very last possible moment our hat vendor has failed on the contract and thus

no-hat for this event.  But we will have an attractive substitute prize from another vendor which I hope you will find both useful and practical.

We are still growing at the MWA/Logan range.  A variety of new props and options makes for better matches both during setup and the competition. We have some bays with temporary gravel piles which our contractor is working on over time within the bays.  This is making for a better and more uniform bay floor as well as an overall better facility.  Please be aware of these as you go from bay to bay during the competition.

We have competitors from several different states along with our Montana crowd.  Introduce your selves.  These are our fellow USPSA members and our fellow supporters of the sport.  It looks to be a good match and we are looking forward to meeting and competing with all of you.

We will begin our setup on Friday at 11AM at the range.  Any of you wishing to get a bit of early sunshine and physical labor are welcome to come out and help us with setup.

To all those coming to the match, have safe travels and we look forward to meeting and competing on Saturday 8-2-08.  Thank you.

Practice, Practice, PRACTICE!
Friday, 22 February 2008 11:05

We are planning on having regularly scheduled practices every Thursday of the month starting February 21, 2008. Please come out and join us for some fun and practice. These sessions will run from about 6 pm until whenever. At practice we will follow the same safety and procedures as encountered during a match. We review and critique our methods and skills and discuss (usually at length) our performance. It is a very use tool to evaluate your skills. Additionally, we may score some of these practices, then review the scores at the end of practice. These unofficial scores are a good measure of how our skills may apply to an official match.

Practices consume club materials and time. As such, we are forced to recoup our costs. We have estimated that it will cost $2.00 per person per practice. You may pay this amount at each practice you attend, all at once for the season (34 practices x $2.00 = $68.00), OR... if you are available on the Fridays before each match, you can help us setup. The practice fee is waived for those who help us with setups!

If you have any questions or comments please feel free to contact us via phone or at the e-mail addresses listed under the contact section of our website.
